Which stands for “Society for Metallurgical Engineering Students” is the mother organization responsible for the national symposium fest in the name of NMD (National Metallurgist’s Day) & TECHNICA which is chartered by various events like the metallographic & modeling contest, industrial problem solving competitions, plant visits, lectures by eminent metallurgists and material scientists of the country alongside Dr. Dara P.Antia memorial metal quiz which brings budding engineers from different parts of the nation together on one platform to share and display their technical skills.

SMES has a tie up with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter which in turn brings the metallurgical area in the budding engineers to help towards significant developments since sustainability and competitiveness of the industry largely depends on development and technology.
